Moscow and Saint Petersburg are two of Russia's most important historical and cultural centres. This educational tour gives students an opportunity to study Russian history, architecture, art, imperial heritage, transportation and urban development from two different perspectives. Moscow introduces students to Russia's political and historical centre, while Saint Petersburg provides exposure to imperial architecture, museums, palaces, art and cultural heritage. The journey between the two cities on the Sapsan high-speed train adds an important transportation and engineering learning experience.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Moscow
Students arrive in Moscow and proceed to the hotel for check-in. The orientation introduces Russia's geography, history and the historical importance of Moscow. Students can also explore selected central areas during an introductory city walk.
Day 2 - Red Square & Moscow Heritage
Students visit Red Square and nearby historical landmarks. The guided educational tour focuses on Russian history, architecture and national heritage. Students can complete observation and photography assignments as part of their learning activities.
Day 3 - Metro, VDNH & River Cruise
Students experience the Moscow Metro and study transportation planning, engineering and station architecture. The programme continues at VDNH, where students explore selected science, technology, cultural and historical attractions. A Moscow River cruise can be included in the evening, subject to operation.
Day 4 - Sapsan Express to Saint Petersburg
Students travel from Moscow to Saint Petersburg aboard the Sapsan high-speed train. During the journey, students can observe Russian railway infrastructure, high-speed transportation technology and changing geographical landscapes. Upon arrival, the group receives an orientation to Saint Petersburg.
Day 5 - Saint Petersburg Historic Centre
Students explore the historic centre of Saint Petersburg and learn about the city's imperial history, architecture and urban planning. The Neva River and surrounding historic buildings provide additional opportunities for geographical and architectural observation.
Day 6 - Hermitage & Art Education
Students visit the Hermitage Museum, subject to booking and availability. The museum experience introduces students to painting, sculpture, decorative arts, Russian history and European cultural heritage.
Day 7 - Palaces, Gardens & Heritage
Students explore selected palace and garden complexes, depending on the final itinerary. The educational focus includes imperial architecture, landscape design, decorative arts and Russian royal history.
Day 8 - Review & Departure
Students compare the historical, architectural and cultural characteristics of Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Groups can prepare presentations based on their observations before the final departure.
